I got my package in the mail!

June 28, 2009 13:51 by Tyler

Many people probably wonder if banners, custom decals, and bumper stickers are an effective use of advertising? Well overall, I would say Yes!

Bumper stickers BUMPER STICKERS

Usually you will find bumper sticker on the rear bumper of a car. So think the bigger the city the more advertisement due to traffic. How many times have you driven up to a car closer just to read the bumper sticker? Me...Way to many..But bumper stickers usually have an effective ROI due to the cheap and efficent printing of 123Decal. Last Year the average bumper sticker went for .38 cents each! And Other people are helping you to get it seen more! Take all the help you can get!

I found a really good news story about the use of bumper stickers at NPR: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=89121141 Click Listen now to Hear all about it!

CUSTOM DECALS

So I think the same things apply to custom decals! I have had a pre-paid package in my car for about 4 day that needed to go out pretty urgently..But I kept forgeting! So the other day while in my office looking down on the street below me. I saw a fedex truck! I only knew it to be Fedex because of it's attached Custom Decals! So I ran to my car, flagged down the truck and they took my package away! My point is that I noticed it, and acted upon seeing it, only because of the decals that were on it. Call It Guerilla Marketing, but I got my package in the mail. My story hopefully llustrates my point about the CONSTANT BRANDING that needs to take place!

How do Reduce your Custom Decal Cost!

June 25, 2009 16:05 by Tyler

Everyday we deal with customers who are looking for a deal or a discount. Then when they go on a quest for better pricing they dont find it! There are certain costs involved in the process of printing and producing decals!

 Screen Printing

When someone wishes to screen print decals, the number of colors will be a huge factor in the cost of the decals. Each color is more ink and then the cost of making and laying a screen for the decal. 4 Colors = 4 Screens.Dont forget the color mixing and costs!

Digital Printing

When you have decals that are digital printed they have to setup the art onthe computer, send it to the printer and then roll it out. Change the printer material and then print.

Dont Forget the cutting costs!

So if you want to reduce your costs for decals First of all Visit www.123Decal.com then cut down on the size and the color!

4 Main Things

1. Use a Smaller Size

2. Use Less Colors,

3. Order a high Quantitiy

4. Use a less expensive substrate

Thanks,

Tyler, not so known to be the king of Custom Decals.

Are printers making it easy enough?

May 29, 2009 16:10 by Tyler

So Here is the question.... Are printers making it easy enough?
I have the suspicion that they are not. This week alone i had some interesting experience that showed that it's easy to get business, if you can just use common sense and business professionalisms.

Lets Take a Moment and walk through an entire sales process:

WEBSITE:

You search the internet. You find a company and go to their website.

How many clicks to find the product you wanted? How was the site on your eyes. So yes. maybe some web designer thought it was totally cool...But really it's just annoying. We are still a business.

With 123Decal there are simple buttons and menus designed to show you what you need!

Lets make it simple.

Get a Price:

With 123Decal if you need a quote. Click the Free quote button and get a price quickly and easily! We will get back to you within minutes! Not Days!

This is the biggest annoyance in the industry: NOTHING IS ONTIME when you say a date or give a timeline. You do everything you can to meet it. And if you can INFORM THE CUSTOMER.

123Decal Recognizes the need for event planning and work.

Let us serve you and show you why we have the best customer service in the industry!

Standardized Terms in the Decal Industry

May 14, 2009 17:11 by Tyler

My Head Spins some days..... one of the biggest annoyanyces in the printing industry is the NON-Standardization of terms.

Think about this: what is the difference to profile cut vs. procut? NOTHING... to some profile cut means something completely different. So I make the Clarion Call to the industry to standadize your terms. Since no one else will ever take the iniative to do this.. I will...See i am a thought leader afterall. I think that it's important to note that 123Decal.com respects all vendor and hope they will conform to our language..Ya Right. :)

The Terms:

Pro-cut - A procut decal, is a very common decal that has only the shape around it and any middle parts removed. This is very common in lettering for car windows. These Custom Decals are generally a little pricy because they require a little more time and effor to product. The Process is that you print it, weed it(remove un needed parts) and Masked it. Then apply it! Please note that a PRO-CUT decal can also be called a PROFILE CUT.

Die-Cut - These is where the decal is cut out around the edge of the whole decal. In all technicallity a "Die Cut Decal" could be a circle, square, or anyother random shape. These are usually cut by using a Die that the pre fabricated before the cutting begins after printing. Die's can be very costly. Some slick digital printers and plotters can Cut throught the vinyl without having to use a DIE. Praise these guys for their great work.

Kiss-Cut - No i dont mean razor blade lips. A kiss cut decal is interesting becuause it is similar to the DIE CUT decals but they are not CUT all the way throught the vinyl. You usually have to peel it out as you see in this image. It helps to make it easy to protect the decal and to seperate it from the vinyl backing, plus it usually faster and cheaper to produce.

Well either way, we just hope you will get your Custom Decals from 123Decal.com . We have buckets full of happy customers!

Thanks,

Tyler 123Decal.com

Decals - Not as Simple as you Think!

May 9, 2009 09:17 by Tyler

When people say decal what do they mean? Is that a sticker? Is a Sticker and Decal that same thing?

Dont forget about Kinds of Decals.... Static Cling, Vinyl Decals, Removable or tempory adhesive. If you really want to make your head spin, think about the different color combinations that you can provide also..White backing, clear, Full color.

A Decal is a....well,...Decal

The word decal is a very generic term for many different segments of Decals and Stickers. Most people think of a decal as a stick, adhering, vinyl sticker that you adhere to things. YES. Okay so you need stickers? Did you mean label? The big issue in is industry is that there are no "Standardized Terms" for anything. So let me take the initiative right now to set some. Who knows if the Industry will follow.

Decals- A decal is a usually a vinyl or polyester product in which people adhere them to different items. Car Decals, Window Decals, Bumper Stickers (technically a decal), oval decals, and more.. There are 3 Main Decal Types: VINYL DECAL, STATIC CLING DECAL, or REMOVABLE DECALS.

Vinyl Decals - Made on a vinyl propylene, you can print full or single colors. Usually Vinyl Decals are made with White Vinyl and are by far the most common types of Decals. Many outdoor decals you see on cars are Viny Decals.

Static Cling Decals - This is also a very common decal. Static clings are sometimes also called Window Decals. They are mainly used in cars. Static cling back be face or back adhering, and usually is clear, but there is white back adhering static cling material also. These decals are available in the face adhesive and back adhesive. We might warn, dont put them on the outside of  your car. They usually won't stay.

Removable Decals - These are interesting decals. They are a great product that you can apply and adhere as a regular decal, but now you it's removable also. Many people love these for campaign or election decals. Oh yes, since your asking we can do this in bumper stickers also! Now you can get removable decals in Clear or in White. Either way, they will come off when you want.

Well Thanks,

Tyler,

Go Green and Save Green too?

May 2, 2009 19:28 by Tyler

These Days everyone is talking about Going Green. Green cars, green energy, green shopping bags. So how can we go green in the printing industry? What prodcuts are green and exactly how green are they.

PRINTING STYLES:

One of the big indicators of "Green" or not is print process. There are mainly 2 print processes you can use. UV or Solvent Ink. The Green way to go is to to use UV Ink. Solvent inks release toxic chemicals into the air. They also have a higher propensity for the ink product itself to run. The other ways that is to UV(ulta violet) Ink. By using UV. your print will not fade as fast, they are not toxic and the ink will not run. This print process is great for outdoors printing.

PRODUCTS:When people say they have green products find out how they are considered green. One Huge Green Product right now are Biodegradable banners. They are built to decompose quickly under landfill conditions. Also 123Decal.com now prints GREEN stickers, labels and decals. We offer a full selction of Custom Decals that are printed with UV ink and some that are printed with 100% post consumer product. How about and organic cotton t-shirt.

PROVE IT:

What are the business practices of the company who is selling "Green" Prodcuts? I like to think about how much they print on paper as a good indicator? Do they print catalogs, mail invoices, and keep file cabinents full of paper work that would have all fit on a simple flash drive?

What do you think? If we can shouldnt we try to help the enviorment? Especially with the ever growing presence of the web. Do I really need a catalog... A perfect example is the phone. The other day 2 different phone companies brought me phone books. I felt bad...I dont need or want either. When was the last time you used a phone book?
